Print Room Operative - Label Printing Specialist
Reports to: Packhouse Shift Manager

About the Role
Print Room Operative - This essential role involves ensuring accurate and efficient printing of labels for major retail customers, maintaining quality standards whilst supporting our fast-paced production environment.
You'll be responsible for managing label printing operations, maintaining quality control standards, and ensuring production lines never run short of correctly printed labels. This position offers great career opportunities for development.
Key Responsibilities - Print Room Operative
Label Production & Quality Control:
- Print labels accurately according to customer specifications and packing plans
- Verify label accuracy including barcodes against specification sheets
- Maintain daily stock records and manage inventory levels proactively
- Monitor and record label waste, setting reduction targets
- Calibrate scanning equipment monthly
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations including proper PPE usage
Operational Excellence:
- Plan ahead to ensure labels are ready on time for production schedules
- Maintain organized and secure print room operations
- Complete daily packaging forms and waste tracking in Excel
- Manage label ordering according to lead times and stock requirements
- Report equipment issues immediately to management
Team Collaboration:
- Participate in daily team meetings and align on production goals
- Provide training and guidance to new team members
- Communicate effectively with Quality Assurance teams
- Support team targets and provide performance feedback

Experience & Skills:
- Previous production or packaging environment experience preferred
- Knowledge of customer packaging requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Equipment handling and label printing process experience
- Proficiency in Excel for reporting and data tracking
- Understanding of health & safety regulations and food safety standards
