Senior Payroll Specialist with payroll and bookkeeping experience required to join community-focused charity in Herefordshire, HR6 - £34,500 for 4-day working week

Excellent opportunity for a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead on payroll and bookkeeping services at this community-focused, charitable organisation in Herefordshire. The Senior Payroll Specialist will oversee the finance / payroll team in order to provide comprehensive support to individuals managing their direct payments. Strategic leadership will ensure efficient and effective service delivery, compliance with legal standards and continuous improvement of operations. The Senior Payroll Specialist will play a pivotal role in planning, managing budgets, fostering stakeholder relationships and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the finance / payroll team
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
• Provide financial administration support to service users
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Attend weekly / monthly meetings as part of senior management team
• Monitor and evaluate service performance, driving efficiencies
• Stay updated with relevant legislation and compliance requirements

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in managing and developing staff
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
• Experience in running payroll - use of Iris / Sage is beneficial
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Previous experience in charity / healthcare / social care sector advantageous

Other:

• £34,500 per annum for 30 hours per week
• 20 days' holiday (increasing by 1 day per year with length of service reward scheme)
