Job description

Software Developer

C# / .Net / SQL Server

Ross-on-Wye - Remote Working

An opportunity has arisen to join a leading software solutions provider as a software developer, working on the management of the current technical estate as well as building new solutions to meet customer and internal requirements. You will build and maintain high quality, enterprise-level software that provides a clean, well-received user experience, moving between project-led teams, cross-product work streams, and greenfield development.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Research, design and write scalable software
  • Plan effectively in an agile environment and deliver to estimates
  • Deliver projects as a team, contributing to and responding to code reviews
  • Investigate and keep abreast of new technologies
  • Fix bugs and support cases

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in software development, designing, developing and delivering web-based software solutions. You will have at least 2 years commercial experience in C# web development, .Net and SQL Server along with experience in tools / technologies such as Visual Studio, Javascript, Restful APIs, SOLID principles and front-end design patterns like MVC and MVVM.

Experience in software design and analysis is expected and any understanding of Entity Framework, Linq / Lambda, Microservices, Angular, Bootstrap and Github would be useful. Knowledge of Xamarin applications development, BDD, TDD and non-functional testing frameworks would also be advantageous.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must and you should have strong problems solving skills and a keen eye for detail. Any experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment would be beneficial and you should show a willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly. This role will suit someone who is looking for a full stack developer opportunity, although they will consider people with a front-end / back-end bias.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, proactive individual with a company offering lots of chances for career and personal progression. This role can be remote or office based, with offices in Ross-on-Wye, commutable from Hereford, Worcester, Newport, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Monmouth, Ledbury, Tewkesbury, Abergavenny and Chepstow. Salary £35-40,000, commensurate with experience.
