Halesowen - with travel across the Southwest on occasion

Technical Support Engineer Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and driven Technical Support Engineer to join their team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of technical solutions and providing sales support to our valued customers and distributors. Working closely with Account Managers, you will play a key role in driving market share growth and fostering long-term customer relationships.

Technical Support Engineer's Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Account Managers to deliver technical solutions and sales support to end-customers and distributors.
  • Coordinate interaction between technical and commercial departments, as well as distributor services, to prepare integrated solutions for customers.
  • Accompany Account Managers on visits to current and potential accounts, supporting new product/service introductions, and recommending solutions tailored to clients' needs.
  • Handle complex technical inquiries, conduct training sessions for internal and external stakeholders, and troubleshoot technical issues during implementation.
  • Drive innovation and document the performance and savings of applied products/services.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and distributors to ensure successful implementation of agreed priorities.
  • Provide proactive support for sales activities, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation within your expertise field.
  • Take accountability for identifying and qualifying opportunities, ensuring technically sound application of products/services, and monitoring competitors' activities.
  • Contribute to business development by developing strategic business plans and conducting proactive customer needs analysis.

Technical Support Engineer Requirements:

  • Broad technical knowledge in Metal cutting tools.
  • Strong competence in [area of expertise].
  • Structured, business-oriented approach to support a diverse and geographically spread team with technical competence.
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of relevant software programs, e.g., CAD/CAM.
  • Knowledge in the field of digital technologies in metalworking.
  • Knowledge of LEAN processes.
