As Transport Planner you will be working from the busy Production Office, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. You will be working very closely with both the sales and production teams and coordinating on a daily basis with hauliers.
It is essential that candidates have excellent planning and IT skills, string communication skills and good UK geographical knowledge.
Transport Planner Responsibilities:
Liaise between transport and sales departments with reference to enquiries etc. on the dispatch of sales orders.
Plan driver holidays, communicate with all sub contractors and drivers on a daily basis.
Obtain necessary paperwork from production department to complete the daily dispatch schedule.
Accurately transfer information onto the detailed schedule and produce dispatch labels.
Liaise between works and transport by giving them the support and necessary paperwork for them to load vehicles, i.e. load sheets, labels etc.
Produce dispatch notes and raise test certificates where necessary.
Support Transport management in absence of personnel. Be competent in other areas of the department.
Check transport Invoices and add on costs.
Complete key figures on a monthly basis and distribute accordingly.
Be fully conversant with all internal computer systems.
Transport Planner Requirements:
Excellent communication skills.
Ideally experience in a HGV Environment.
Previous planning experience preferred.
Ability to deal with drivers from a range of nationalities.
Excellent numeracy/Literacy and IT skills including Microsoft applications.
Ideally good understanding of drivers hours and sound geographical knowledge of the UK.
Based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
Normal working hours will be 8.30 to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 3.15 Friday.
Candidate will be expected to work a 11 till 7 shift every fourth week but also is expected to be flexible.
