Administrator roles are often a great opportunity and introduction to working in a busy commercial office environment.  Employers may often consider applicants with little or no experience and initially start them doing back office and sometimes repetitive tasks such as data entry, filing and producing reports. As experience grows, the role of an Administrator can be exceptionally varied to include more senior level support and secretarial duties such as diary management and arranging travel and accommodation, customer service and overall responsibility for office maintenance. Starting salaries can range from £15k to £18k with experienced Senior Administrators potentially earning in excess of £30k.

HR Administrator

HR Administrator roles offer you the first step on the HR career ladder. Employers will often consider candidates without any previous HR experience for the role of HR Administrator if they have HR specific qualifications.  HR Administrators will work as part of a larger HR Team, assisting with the day to day administrative tasks such as dealing with application forms, setting up interviews, keeping employee personnel files up to date and drafting offer letters, contracts and other HR specific documents.  Average starting salary for a HR Administrator is around £18k.  Should your HR career progress in to more senior roles, salaries can rise as high as £60k + in Management and Director level roles.
