Job: Accounts Assistant
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Hewett Recruitments Finance Team are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our client based in Kidderminster on a full time and Permanent basis. This is an excited time to be joining the company at a period of growth and to join a welcoming and friendly team.
Ownership of accounting function for the business, to include:
- Daily banking and bank reconciliation using Sage Accounting (Sage Cloud)
- Supplier invoice processing, production of creditor reports and liaising with suppliers
- Preparation of debtor reports and dealing with customer queries
- Sending customer statements and invoices
- Credit control via telephone, email and letter
- Customer and supplier statement reconciliations
- Setup of new customer accounts
- Preparation & submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Preparation of monthly management reports including monthly journal processing, profit and loss & balance sheet
- Balance sheet reconciliations including maintenance of fixed asset register
- Ad hoc financial duties as required
Key Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently using own initiative
- Good communication skills - written and verbal
- 2 years' experience in a similar role
- AAT accounting (level 3 or higher) or equivalent bookkeeping qualification desirable
- Experience of Sage Accounting desirable
