Software Developer

Fully Remote | Birmingham | £40,000 - £43,000

We're recruiting for a Software Developer to join an established UK business with a strong in-house IT team.

This is a fully remote role (with occasional Birmingham travel few times per year) focused on developing and improving bespoke, business-critical systems used across the organisation.

The Role

You'll be working on internal applications that support operations, compliance and reporting.

This is a hands-on position where you will:

  • Develop and maintain C# / .NET applications

  • Work across backend, frontend and database layers

  • Enhance and modernise existing systems

  • Debug and resolve issues in production and test environments

  • Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code

  • Contribute to code reviews and quality standards

The business is keen to modernise and welcomes developers who are open to using AI-assisted tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity and code quality.

Experience Required

Essential:

  • Commercial experience with C# / .NET

  • SQL Server experience

  • Experience with Angular or a similar JavaScript framework

  • Comfortable working within existing or legacy codebases

Desirable:

  • DevExpress / DevExtreme

  • Experience modernising legacy systems

  • BI / reporting tools

  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools

This role would suit:

  • A mid-level developer looking for ownership and stability, or

  • A strong junior developer ready to step up

What's In It For You?

  • Fully remote working

  • Salary £40,000 - £43,000

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Pension scheme

  • Death in Service cover

  • Employee discounts programme

  • Long-term stability within an established UK business

  • Opportunity to modernise systems and influence technical improvements
