Technical Consultant
Field-based - North of UK / Scotland (travel required)
£36,000 per annum + £400 per month car allowance + fuel card + benefits

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Consultant to join our Technical Delivery Team. This field-based role will see you delivering technical solutions and outstanding service to clients across the North of the UK and Scotland, including Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Halifax, York, and Edinburgh. You will be responsible for on-site and remote delivery of products and services, ensuring projects are implemented effectively and customers receive the highest levels of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver on-site and remote technical solutions in line with agreed project scopes and customer expectations

  • Act as the technical point of contact for customers, providing guidance and expertise throughout delivery

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot products and services as part of the implementation process

  • Work closely with the Technical Delivery Lead and Regional Lead to ensure successful project outcomes

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide clear updates to all stakeholders

  • Support the wider Customer Operations team with technical expertise and best practice

Experience & Skills

  • Previous field-based technical experience, ideally in a customer-facing support or service delivery role

  • Experience across the full technical delivery lifecycle from presales to operational handover

  • Exposure to corporate and medium-scale business environments, preferably in an ITIL-aligned setting

  • Strong customer service background with the ability to manage varied workloads to tight deadlines

  • Technical expertise in:

    • Windows Server (2012-2025), Azure, and Microsoft 365

    • Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing) and LAN/WAN technologies including firewalls, switches, wireless, VPNs, VoIP, and QoS

    • Remote Desktop Services and Azure Virtual Desktop

    • Active Directory, Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server

    • Storage systems (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)

    • Virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, Nutanix)

    • Knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Familiarity with service management tools and structured change processes
