General Manager

General Manager required to oversee business operations and manage team at small, well-established business in Ledbury - £40,000-£45,000 + profit share

Great opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join this small, successful business at its site in Ledbury. The company is one of the leading providers in its industry and alongside overseeing the team, the General Manager will be responsible for seeking opportunities for business growth, improving business efficiency and increasing profits to build upon the company's already well-recognised success. This is an autonomous position in an industry-leading company which has grown substantially over the past few years, and the General Manager will need to have a proactive and committed approach to continue driving the business forward.

This is a varied General Manager role with real opportunity to make an impact on the growth and profitability of the business. Duties will include:

  • Relationship management - maintaining close relationships with suppliers and key clients, providing excellent customer service

  • Business development - actively seeking out new opportunities for business growth; from sales and marketing opportunities to event planning and implementing new systems

  • Overseeing stock control - ensuring all stock is evenly distributed across sites and uploaded onto CRM

  • People management - overseeing the team, contributing positively to team moral, resolving any queries and providing support as needed

  • Cash flow and budget control - forecasting, managing incomings and company expenditure, overseeing payments, deals and agreements

  • Reporting to Board and Directors - responsibility for reporting on budgets and weekly / monthly / yearly company performance

The ideal candidate for this General Manager role will be commercially minded, have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar level role and have successfully managed a team in a previous role. The company prides itself on maintaining strong customer relations, so this General Manager must have excellent interpersonal skills, a professional attitude and be confident maintaining and establishing relationships. Solid communication skills and attention to detail are key as well as a flexible attitude and willingness to pitch in across the team. Must be forward-thinking and able to use initiative as well as motivate the team and be committed to contributing to the overall success of a small, reputable and family run business. Knowledge of Pinewood DMS / CRM system is desirable.

Salary £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience + profit share (to be disclosed). Benefits include 22 days' holiday + long service scheme, access to wellbeing app, free parking and company mobile provided. Hours are 8:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday + 1 in 3 Saturdays, 9am-1pm.
