  • Deliver high-quality financial support to key projects, programmes, and business development initiatives

  • Work closely with the CEO and Board to shape the organisation's financial future

  • Line manage the Finance Officer and support wider operations with robust financial systems and controls

  • Act as Company Secretary and lead the Finance Committee administration

  • Attend and contribute to Board and Finance Committee meetings (4/year each)

Head of Finance Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

  • Strong experience in finance, governance, and compliance - advantagous, but not essential if you have prior charity finance experience

  • Proven track record in financial planning, risk management, and reporting

  • Skilled in project or contract finance with experience in charity law and environmental accounting desirable

  • Experience with cloud-based finance systems (e.g., Xledger preferred)

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences

  • Passionate about the environment and the mission of the organisation

Why Apply?

  • Be part of a respected conservation charity with over 8,000 members

  • Join an organisation that's nationally recognised for impact, innovation, and community engagement

  • Flexible working model with hybrid options and a supportive, values-led culture

  • Opportunity to shape the financial strategy and sustainability of a growing organisation

  • Competitive salary and benefits, including pension and generous holiday allowance
