Job description

The Role

Production Planner.

Reporting to the Planning Managing, you will form part of a busy Supply Chain / Operations department. Your role will involve providing accurate and appropriate information for the business to execute a daily production plan, as well as supporting the businesses strategic aspirations.

Responsibilities

  • Generate via a planning system both daily production plans and provisional plans to agreed timelines, ensuring at all times they are presented in line with appropriate machinery availability and according to agreed run rates.
  • Continuous evaluation of forward forecasts to ensure all products are delivered on time in full, and in line with business standard expectations.
  • Liaise with the Commercial team to determine customer requirements ensuring that all volume peaks and troughs are planned accordingly.
  • Ensure promotions and product changes/launches are pre planned and communicated accordingly.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Maintenance and Prep teams to ensure all materials and machinery are available when required.
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during the planning process and find solutions.
  • Attend daily meetings as required - ensure all daily and forthcoming actions are communicated effectively.
  • Liaise with the Production department to make sure the required labour is ordered for the following days production in line with run rates and standards.
  • Ensuring that vehicles depart on time with all the product that has been ordered by the customer, measured by customer OTIF service levels.
  • Production schedules are planned in such a way to reduce downtime and avoid excess labour.
  • This role has a responsibility for product safety, brand integrity and Health and Safety

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar planning role within a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Good Understand of Excel and previous experience with planning systems.
  • Aptitude for problem solving.
  • Effective communicator both verbal & written.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing business environment.
  • Ability to influence & motivate others.
  • Previous Planning/Purchasing experience desirable.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Excellent Organisational Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Based in Worcestershire.

Monday to Friday full time, early morning shift.

Salary £30,000 - £35,000.
