Shift Manager

Location: Droitwich
Salary: £42,500
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm & 4 on / 4 off across Monday to Sunday 1:30pm to 10pm.

As a Shift Manager, you'll play a vital role in leading safe, efficient, and high-quality warehouse operations. You will oversee a team and ensure that operational plans are executed effectively, while driving a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. You'll also have strategic input into key operational areas, including H&S, stock, compliance, people leadership, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation and review of workplace safety policies.
  • Conduct audits and drive proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with UK legislation and internal standards.
  • Execute daily/weekly shift plans in line with business objectives.
  • Manage labour planning, attendance, and holiday schedules.
  • Oversee onboarding for new products/clients.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams for site efficiency.
  • Lead and develop team members, including succession planning.
  • Handle complex HR matters, including grievances and disciplinaries.
  • Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and well-being.
  • Promote Lean methodology and continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on KPIs; drive initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain strong cross-departmental communication.
  • Lead on quality assurance and compliance strategies.
  • Champion digital tools and process automation.
  • Manage stock integrity, forecasting, and end-of-period counts.
  • Implement ESG initiatives at warehouse level.
  • Monitor environmental performance and support sustainability targets.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics leadership.
  • Must be confident managing teams and driving operational performance.
  • Understanding UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
  • Experience with process improvement and resource planning.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Is aligned with values around diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental responsibility.
