Job description

My client are one of the largest domain name and hosting providers in the UK. They are looking to appoint a Technical Support Advisor to join their Network Operations Team, based in Reading.

Dealing with customer issues raised over the phone, email and internal ticket system and acting as a liaison between customers and the Network Team, gathering correct data for troubleshooting, in order to resolve any network related issues. You will also be responsible for dealing with a range of hardware, manually handling network and servers.

Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Help Desk or Technical Support Experience, including Windows, Linux, Various VPS Platforms and Network and Server infrastructure
  • Experience with Cabling and Network Wiring
  • Significant Customer Service Support experience
  • Resilient with the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to learn and retain information in a fast paced environment

The Network Operations Team provide 24/7 support to their users, with all Technical Support Advisors working to a shift pattern. Hours of work will be based on four day shifts (7.00am to 7.00pm), followed by four days off, and then four night shifts (7.00pm to 7.00am), followed by four nights off.
