Job description

My Evesham based client are looking for an efficient Financial Administrator to join their small and super friendly team.

This is a busy, hands on position that requires someone who understands the importance of confidentiality and has a friendly, helpful manner with an ability to empathise and deal with difficult situations on a daily basis.

Knowledge of Sage accounts and strong organisational skills are also essential in this role.

Your primary duties will include…

  • To enter and record all income, expenditure and other transactions in the records.
  • To interview applicants and process their requests, assisting the Senior Administrator and the Clerk with the preparation of reports and accounts as required.
  • Together with the Senior Administrator and Clerk to maintain and improve on the operation of the organisation in respect of its accounts, records, minutes and other documentation, together with the day to day management of the office environment.
  • To be responsible for and to process transactions as required through the accounting systems and to reconcile bank accounts
  • To assist in maintaining the computer systems and to maximise the effective use of the software and equipment.
  • To prepare statements on the income and expenditure together with the amounts available for disbursal in accordance with the agreed budgets and to issue grant payments that have been authorised.
  • To administer the general office expenditure in connection with the day to day running of the Charity and to ensure that the expenditure is kept to the minimum required to maintain an efficient office operating within the Policies as agreed by the Trustees.
  • To maintain records and verify claims for payment from the petty cash, food voucher or other accounts as required.
  • General record keeping and administrative tasks such as the preparation of agendas and minutes.
  • To respond to enquiries received by email, letter, telephone or in person in an appropriate manner.
  • To interview applicants and undertake enquiries into the circumstances contained within applications for grant assistance. This may include visiting the homes of applicants and reporting on the findings.

Skills and experience include….

  • Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel and Sage Accounts
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Friendly, helpful manner with an ability to empathise and deal with difficult situations
  • Occasional attendance at evening board meetings requires


Please be aware this is a fully office based position in Evesham.

Working hours...

Mon - Thur 9am - 5pm (30 minute lunch), Friday 9am - 1pm
