HR and Payroll Advisor
Are you a proactive HR professional with an eye for detail and a strong grasp of payroll from a contract and compliance perspective? Our client is an educational Academy Trust and is looking for an HR and Payroll Advisor to join their central team. Playing a key role in supporting the schools with all aspects of the employee lifecycle, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a values-led trust.
- Location - Pershore (hybrid working option)
- Hours - flexible (ideally 30 hours min in term time) and 4 weeks in school holidays
- Salary - £31,537 - £33,699 pro rata depending on hours
The Role
As our HR and Payroll Advisor, you will:
- Provide first-line HR advice across the schools in line with employment legislation and trust policies.
- Lead on key HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, and contract management.
- Oversee the accurate and timely submission of payroll-related data to the external payroll provider.
- Manage statutory payments, pensions, and pay-related queries.
- Support with HR casework, change management and employee relations issues.
- Ensure safeguarding and pre-employment checks are completed to the highest standard.
- Maintain HR records and systems, including data analysis and reporting.
- Promote employee wellbeing and contribute to our inclusive People Strategy.
Skills and Experience required:
- A minimum of CIPD Level 3 and sound knowledge of employment law.
- Strong experience in HR administration and providing HR advice.
- An ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Can liaise confidently with school leaders, staff, and external payroll providers.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, data protection, and compliance in a school setting.
- Experience working in the education sector or public sector would be hugely beneficial.
The successful applicant will be subject to enhanced DBS and reference checks.
