Mechanical Machine Technician
Location: Kidderminster
Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 + Benefits
Hours: Full-time, Permanent

The Company
Our client is a well-established manufacturing business based in Kidderminster. Due to continued growth and investment, they are seeking a Mechanical Machine Technician to support production operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement within their factory.
The Role
As a Mechanical Machine Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery is safe, well-maintained, and optimised for performance. Working closely with the Production Manager, you will also help supervise and motivate the factory team, driving efficiency and quality across operations.
This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically minded professional who thrives in a busy production environment and enjoys a mix of technical maintenance, machine tuning, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all machinery is safe, compliant, and maintained effectively
Carry out and continuously improve preventative maintenance schedules (PPM)
Tune tufting machinery to maximise quality, run rates, and reliability
Support the Production Manager in supervising and motivating shop floor staff
Set and monitor performance targets, ensuring labour is fully utilised
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help roll out new processes
Monitor, record, and reduce waste through improved methods of working
Learn Wilton loom tuning and become competent in issue resolution within 2 years
Lead the back shift when required, ensuring quality and adherence to production plans
Support wider maintenance activity including facilities management and compliance testing
Skills & Experience
Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on machine maintenance skills
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Ability to follow safe systems of work and promote a safety-first culture
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams
Willingness to develop skills (e.g., Wilton loom tuning, first aid, fire warden training)
